A Lily's Tale

The poem "A Lily's Tale" by Charmaine Blackwood takes the reader on a journey of resilience and perseverance through the metaphor of a lily. The poet beautifully captures the essence of overcoming challenges and thriving in adversity by using the lily as a symbol of strength and determination. The poem inspires readers to find hope and courage in the face of difficulties. Join me as we explore the profound message of resilience woven into the lines of "A Lily's Tale."

A Lily’s Tale

Despite the gloom

Still the lily blooms

Despite the fight

It reaches the light

Despite the darkness

Beneath its surface

Still its root

Begins to shoot

Despite the water being murky

Or even sometimes dirty

Still, it persists

And never resists

Despite the challenges ahead

Even for, the things it dreads

Slowly it grows

For all, it knows

Despite the gloom

The lily will bloom

And someday soon

It will be over the moon
